It's been so long since I last posted here. I have missed all my blog friends. Today I can finally show you why I have been away and not creating. I have converted my 2 car garage to a great space that will serve as storage/office/ and most importantly my craft area. Enjoy the pics and feel free to send me an email if you have any question. Pool Sign

This sign was made as an entry for the Spotted Canary facebook summer contest. While we were on vacation, my boys saw a metal sign with these words but I was not going to pay almost 30.00 for it knowing I could make something at home. I purchased the wood from Michael's and simply painted it. To make the words, I used my Gypsy and Cricut. The skinny font is from Jubilee cart and the chunky one is from Plantin Schoolbook. I cut them out and used the negative of the cut as a stencil. The edges were done with an EK success punch called large circles, I punched a piece of adhesive paper and used it as a stencil also. Finished off with some flip flop stickers.

Angry Birds Pinata, Cake and Card

Well the party has past and it was a blast... lol... Lots of fun with family and friends. My son is 9 today... can't believe it. I was not able to find any Angry Birds party items so I had to create my own. As my previous post shows, I made his invitations. I then had to figure out how to get a cake and piñata for him. The piñata was time consuming but easy to do. We went to a piñata store looking for the bird with out any luck. We did find a strawberry that Bryan thought looked like the red bird shape so we bought it. I removed all the yellow circles and leaves from the piñata and covered any traces with matching red tissue paper. I then cut out the face using my cricut and the previous cuts from the invite. Here are some before and after pics.

Once the Pinata was done, we had to figure out the cake. I have the Cricut Cake machine so this came easier to me. I ordered a pre-iced cake from Vons. They made a sky and grass background along with the Happy Birthday message. All I had to do then was color some gumpaste and use the same cuts I had on the invite. Super easy and fast. The messiest part was coloring black gumpaste.... yuk. Here is the cake.

Last is our Birthday card for Bryan. I know he loves the bomb bird so I was inspired by the scene on one of my other son's shirts. I cut the bombs from Indie Art cricut cart. I had cut the beak... that was hard for me. The eyes are from layer pieces from 3 birds on parade Cricut cart. The background was created using Coredinations paper and scoring lines and squares for buildings then sanded. Inside is stamps from Recollections and Pink by Design.

Happy 4th : embedded embossing technique

Wow, I'm on a roll today.. 3rd posting. I wanted to share a technique I came across on a card a while back. I'm sorry I don't recall the person's blog but she had a card made with Stampin Up punches and embossing folder. The technique is to adhere all your die cuts to the card and then emboss them in one pass with a detailed embossing folder. Right away I thought cross stitch art when I saw it. I decided to try my own with Cricut die cuts. This one is the flag from Independence Day cart. I outlined it with twine since the background was white, it was getting lost. I love how it looks like a cross stitch pattern. The embossing folder is a sizzix one called plaid. I also stamped the sentiment prior to embossing. Finished with a twine bow made with my bowdabra.

13 years ago..... Birthday Card

Bow making has always been a challenge for me. I have tried numerous tools over the years with some success but nothing that has become my "go to" tool so I keep looking.... until now. I think I found that elusive tool in the Bowdabra. I purchased the mini and the original one and sat down to watch some video tutorial on their site. I then practiced, practiced and practiced until I felt comfortable with the process. It is really simple but I was not used to it so practice helps. I made the bow on my nieces 13th birthday card with the mini Bowdabra ... I love how it turned out. Let me know what you think.

Well I'm finally done with school projects. Summer has begun so I'm trying to keep my boys busy. I wanted to share some simple cards that I made during the last week. I find it hard to make these kind of cards because I want to embellish, add layers, die cuts, etc... but sometimes simple is also nice. Makes card making go faster too.

This one was for a teacher. I love the silhouette stamp by Hero Arts : Lets Garden
I stamped it in Early Espresso Stampin up ink. I also used two PTI sets: Turning a New Leaf for the background, and Teacher's Apple for the sentiment.

This one was made for my husband. We celebrated or 17th wedding anniversary on the 18th of June.

I had this paper in my stash and just love the quotes and poems on it so I decided to let the paper be my sentiment. All I added to this one was a punch by Martha Stewart popped with foam squares... and card complete.

Wow it's been a long time since I last posted a project.... I'll try to do better :) This week is teacher appreciation at our school. Every day the boys will be taking something different to show their appreciation to their teacher. Today was flower day so I made these flower pins with my Stampin' Up! Exclusive Design Bigz XL Die - Flower Folds Super easy to make. The school mascot is a Jaguar so I used the animal print fabric and cut out some paw print cupcake wrappers (cut at 2 inches) from my Cricut Lite Cupcake Wrappers. The wappers make perfect mini flower pots. They sit on a chipboard circle coaster coverd with Spellbinders eyelet circle die.

I will be giving all the teacher a flower pin.. but maybe not in the pot.... too many to make .. LOL.

It's all about the Shoes

This one is for a Wizard of Oz fan in the family. The hardest part on this card was the ruby slippers. I tried so many different combinations of glitter, glue, embossing...etc so get the look I wanted. Finally settled on using my heat n'stick powder and then adding Martha Stewart fine glitter. I then went in and colored the shoe with my copic markers. Finished the bow on the shoe with a rhinestone and filled in with Stickles Glitz Ruby Slippers. I really like how they turned out. Made this one yesterday with my Damask Decor cart. I love how simple and elegant cards can be created with this cart. I used another one of my TPC stamps sets for this one. Love the butterfly. I stamped Stampin Up Whisper White and then heat embossed with white embossing powder. I wanted to hand cut the sentiments but the scrolls were giving me some trouble and could not get a clean cut, so I designed one on my Gypsy. I used the Sentimentals cart and welded two labels together to create the stamp label. I love how it fit perfectly and no need to hand cut around those scrolls. ....gotta love when my Gypsy and Cricut come to the rescue. Finished the card off with a pretty button.

I love how this turned out. I found some craft platic at Michael's this week and used it to make this project. I first airbrushed the plastic with my copic marker then embossed leaving a blank space in the middle for the stamp. If you are wondering how to leave a blank space when you use embossing folders look at this video. I stamped the prayer with Stazon ink and them framed it with a cut from Cricut Ornamental Iron. It's one of my favorite prayers.

I just received my Cricut Formal Occasion cart so I had to make a card with it. My Mom will be having a birthday this month so I decided to make this one for her. She loves roses. I cut multiple layers of the petals in very vanilla Stampin Up paper then inked them with Tim Holtz distress ink. I love how it turned out. Can you believe it, more than one post this week... lol. I'm having fun with some great new products. This card was created using the new cling stamps from TPC studio. They are sold at Joan's. I love that they are red rubber and cling. I paired 2 of them with the seed packets from Cricut Freshly Picked. Seized them down to fit the stamp on my Gypsy. The sign is also from the same cart. Happy Birthday: Rosette

Made this one today for a family member's birthday. I wanted to use the Tim Holtz Rosette, but wanted a smaller one. Since I only have the original Rosette die, I stared playing with and and discovered that just by trimming it, I made the rosette smaller. Now I don't have to buy another die :) The background lace paper is a cut from Cricut Paper Lace. This is a fun cartridge but I didn't want to deal with glue pens on the intricate pieces, so I just sprayed with my Elmer's adhesive.... worked like a charm. Hope you are all having a great day. Now I have to clean my craft room. DH is working from home ( car issues.. long story) and he walked in there and said it was a total mess :( ... off to work I go.

Good morning to you. This week at The Cuttlebug Spot we have a felt challenge. I love cutting felt flowers in my Cuttlebug so I decided to pair them up with one of my new Sizzix folders. Gotta love those butterflies. I embossed using Core-dinations white wash collection. The flower is cut using my Cottage Cutz die with out the foam adhered to them so that I can cut felt. I then attached a button in the center. I love that you can remove the back of any button (shank) to use on your crafting projects. Enjoy your day, and I'll be back with another post later today.

I had to make this quick card this morning to show you my new find in embellishments, memory thread by DMC. I came across it in the sewing section at M's. I have never seen it before so it's new to me. I think the possibilities are endless with this thread. You can mold in so many shapes. You can use it and curl it as hair on doll die cuts and frame so many shapes. I tried to use it in different ways on this card so you get an idea. I love that you can make small spiral flowers too. It is 2.99 for 3 yards and made by DMC. Joan's online has some older colors for .89 cents..stock up because I'm sure once you work with it, you will love it.

I'm back from our mini vacation. Visiting the Dodger Spring Training facility was wonderful. The boys had so much fun. I will be posting some pictures later this week. I had some time to take along my Gypsy and design a card. This will be posted on the Cuttlebug Spot tomorrow.. can you guess what embellishment we are focusing on this week? I love the die and stamp combos that various companies have such as Spellbinders with Just Rite stamps and Papertrey Ink's mat stack sets.... however I needed a larger die cut and stamp so I decided to make my own with Cricut and my Hero Arts background stamps. Here is the final card and below is the tutorial on how to do this.

cut your cricut shapes with 1/4 frame on the outside

Made these for my little niece. My sister wanted something simple. A framed cross...but was specific that the frame needed so be embossed. As soon as I showed her my Spellbinder's frames, she picked this one and of course their crosses too. I think my nieces name should be on it ... but they said no, leave it as is. Well this is the final result. I used the Cardmakers Series Pearl paper from Core-dination. I love that's its pearl on both sides and thick... if you haven't used it, you really should :)

Inspired by an Oscar Dress: Birthday Wishes

I made this for a special person.. sorry can't say who just in case she takes a peek. The inspiration for this card came from the Oscar dress Kate Blanchette wore this year. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to make a card with a similar frame and pearls. I really don't like the dress and don't understand the yellow piece they added... but I think my card turned out nice.:)

Today I wanted to share my card for The Cuttlebug Spot challenge. This week it's all about Pop-Up Cards. I love getting that special surprise inside these types of cards so I really enjoyed making this one. I used the Sizzix wedding #3 set to emboss the front of the card. I wanted it to be simple in the front because the inside is the pop up image surprise. For the inside I just punched some flowers with my Stampin Up punches. I also used the Owl Stampin-Up punch. Altered Crystal Light Container : Happy Valentines Day

I have been ill for the past four days and was getting a bit stressed over having to complete some Valentine's Day projects. Today I feel so much better and decided to get started. This is an altered Crystal Light Container. I embossed the brown paper with Tim Holtz wood grain folder to give it the look of a log. Thumper is cut from Cricut Disney Classics. I usually stay away from these characters because the pieces are so tiny to cut and put together, but to my surprise this was easy to do. Maybe I'm just more patient today:) The flowers are from Mother's Day Bouquet. I hope the recipient loves this little container of goodies.

Sew Easy Cards

Im trying out my new tool, the Sew Easy from We R Memory Keepers. I bought my own floss at Michael's and started piercing. I love that the tool swivels for different patterns. Making straight pierces is not a problem but be careful when you want to curve, because sometimes you can push too hard or to soft and the holes get messy. I guess like anything else it takes a bit of practice. Each piercing head can do 3 different patterns so be sure to download the guide so you can see what the stitches are. I'm really thankful for that guide since I had no clue how to make the stitches once the holes were pierced. I'll be practicing some more this weekend but here are two cards I have managed to complete.

Hello. Today I wanted to share a layout I completed for the Cricut Circle weekly challenge. I was looking through a box of pictures and found these. I love the moment that it captured. My son is now 12... can't believe how fast times flies.

About the layout : The weekly challenge was to use the original carts that came with the cricut machine or the Gypsy so I decided to use Plantin Schoolbook for the font and Gypsy Wanderings for the flowers, butterfly, scroll, and journal tag. I really enjoyed this layout because having 3 boys, I don't always get a chance to use pink and flowers:).

Quick card sharing today. This is from the new Spring Holiday Cricut cart. I love the quick cards this one has to offer. I didn't care for the corner slit on the scallop frame so I just placed the card topper on top with out tucking it in. I also cut out some clouds and embossed them to give them some dimension. The eyes ont he sun are from the Peachy Keen wide eyed collection. I stamped them and placed them behind the opening of sun. Colored in the mouth. I hope my friends that are dealing with lots of snow, will get a smile and feel the rays of sun I'm sending your way with this card.

Made this one for my husband. He is out of town this week and I miss him a lot. I decided to try my hand at the tri-shutter card since it's a style that I had never tried. The trick with this one was the vine piece at the top. I used the Martha Steward Deep Edge Vine in 2 layers. It was had to score in between the leaves so that they can fold with the card. The monkeys are from Cricut Create a Critter cart. I flipped one image on my Gypsy so that they would be hanging with opposite arms. To make the girl monkey, I gave her a bow, and pink cheeks :) That's all for tonight.

Super easy and fast card this morning. This is for The Cuttlebug Spot challenge this week. We were to create cards inspired by children's games. I used dominos. There are so many different domino games for children these days like the Spongebob one we own, but I decided to stick with the traditional tiles. The embossing folder is a 5x7 one by Provo Craft called dominos.

Made this one for a contest entry at Provo Craft. We were to use Anna Griffin product and one of 3 cricut carts, Winter Lace, Wall Decor, or Don Juan . I had the Anna Griffin Isabelle Collection paper on hand and her lace punch so I decided to make this card. Used Wall Decor for the flower and the word hope. The card is supposed to get there by the 18th.. so we'll see. I may squeak by. Either way, it was fun making the card with such bright colors.

Today I wanted to share with you my card for The Cuttlebug Spot. We were challenged to find inspiration in a song. Well you probably already know we are a baseball family. My boys just had tryouts on Saturday, so I had to go with John Fogerty's Centerfield. I had the perfect embossing folder for the card. It is embossed on Coredinations paper and sanded. I then cut and embossed a baseball and popped it in the glove. The baseball is from the Disney cut and embossed set called baseball gear. Sharing this cute purse with you today. My niece will be 8 tomorrow and loves getting accessories so I made this to give her some. It holds sunglasses, hair bows and a gift card. She loved it. This purse if from the Cricut Cart Forever Young . Cut using fit to page on a 12x24 mat. The paper is from K&CO Handmade Collection. They had this stack last year but you can still find it online. I also changed the flap and had to add some embossing:)

Using Embossing folders in your Grand Calibur

You can use Cuttlebug, Sizzix, and Quickutz embossing folders. Please keep in mind the thickness of your paper. You may need to add a shim of card stock if your embossing is not deep enough. The Sizzix embossing folders feel thicker so I doubt that you will need a shim. Some of the Quickutz ones did not emboss deep enough so I just added a shim of the same card stock that I was embossing. As always feel free to send me an email if you have any questions.

Good morning. This week at the Cuttlebug Spot we are sharing fall creations. I love this time of year, although we have mostly evergreens around our home :( Fall colors are my favorite so I made this card for the challenge. I used the leaf cut and emboss by Provo Craft. The loop square is from Spellbinders (not happy with this die because it would not cut on my Cuttlebug or Wizard). I had to use my big shot with shims. I hate having to use multiple machines. I think I'll be calling Spellbinders today. Maybe I have a bad die. The sentiment stamp is from Pink by Design. I love these clear stamps. If you have not heard of them before, you should take a look. I'm positive you will find a set that you have to have.

Happy day to everyone. I finally had some time today to complete a project. I have been wanting to scrap this picture of my niece from this past summer. It's one of my favorites. Oh to be young again and not worry about calories...lol. I made this one for the Circle Blog weekly challenge. We were asked to Use Pink, Ruffles, Scallops, Flourishes, Glitter and Jewels ( incorporate any 3 on your project). I more than three once I got started. I think it's because I rarely make layouts with girls.. ha ha.... I used the scallops from Accent essentials, Flourishes from Serenade, Pink, Jewels, and glitter. The title is font from Nursery Rhymes. ... I almost forgot to mention, the rosette is my new Tim Holtz die... love... love it. Cotton Candy cut from Carousel lite cart.

Halloween Treat Platter

It's been a while since I have updated my blog. I'm so sorry. I hope to post some more projects this week. Today I have this one for The Cuttlebug Spot. Our challenge this week is to create some Halloween treat holders with embossing. I found the platter on Happy Hauntings cartridge to be perfect. I cut it at 6 inches and embossed the top piece with a folder from the Mini Monsters Cuttlebug Companions. I did have trouble with the platter standing so I cut the stand twice to make it a bit sturdier. I tink this one would work great with heavier paper such as chipboard and some more support for the stand :) Be sure to visit The Cuttlebug Spot for more fantastic projects. Enjoy.

JustRite Challenge 034 : glitter magic

I was determined to join this week's challenge at JustRite, so I stayed up late tonight to get this card in. I have glitter all over my work area, floor and clothes. Don't you just love it. I sparkle all over:) For this week's challenge I used the Friendship 3-1/4 stamp set. I stamped the image using a glue pad then poured Martha Stewart fire opal glitter. I bought it at Halloween last year and love it for fall projects. I'm going to bed now... good night.

Picked up Botanicals Lite cart today and had to make a card with it. I like how this one turned out. I did try another cut with a rose but the paper kept tearing.. so I'll try that one another day. Just wanted to share some of our vacation pictures with you. This summer we went on another road trip, last year it was to Colorado. This year we took the boys to The Grand Canyon with a brief stop in Roswell, Carlsbad Cavern, and a stop at the O.K Corral. We had a great time although it rained at The Grand Canyon:( I think we will remember the experience of not being able to see more than if we had actually seen it on a clear day.

Just Rite challenge 028: a picture is worth a thousand words

Well it's that time again, JustRite project. This time the challenge at the JustRite blog was to use a picture in our project. Well my 2 month old nephew is such a cutie that I had to use his picture as the focal point on my card. I think this would make a great birth announcement. What do you think?

For this one I embossed the background paper with feet and hands quickutz embossing plate. I then stamped the outside border with my JustRite Baby Ensemble 2 1/4 x 3 1/16 . I cut the outer border and inner oval with my nestabilities. The border at the bottom is a punched out with my Stampin Up scalloped border punch. I used JustRite Times Roman font and set them on my horizontal wood stamper to stamp his name. The safety pins are paper punched from Martha Stewart.

I really thought this time I was going to miss the challenge since we are leaving for vacation on Saturday, I'm so glad I got the chance to squeeze this one in. Enjoy.

Happy Monday everyone. This week the challenge at The Cuttlebug Spot is to emboss on mini albums or books. I decided to make a quick album with embossed frames from Cricut Lacy Labels cartridge. I cut then embossed with various folders. The journal pieces are 2x2 quickutz embossing folders. I inked all the pieces and its ready for some pictures. This was quick and easy.... love projects like that.

I received my newest cricut cart from HSN yesterday and had to make a card as soon as I opened it. I just love the images on this cart. Lots of birds for different holidays and seasons. Its a must have if you like cute birds. The cart is 3 birds on Parade. It is available on HSN exclusively and you have to call to place your order, it is not on their site yet.

Made this one today for the challenge over at JustRite Blog . This week's challenge is to make a Christmas card using JustRite stamps. I decided to go with the sleigh surrounded by holly from the Old Fashioned Chirstmas set (3-1/4 ). I love this image. It was lots of fun coloring. I also added some glitter by going over the gold on the sleigh and the green holly with my at you Spica pens. I love the subtle shine these give colored images. I bought this stamp a while ago and finally sat down to color. Lots of coloring on this one with my copics. I forgot how relaxing it is to color. This stamps is from the Tina Wenke Stampavie collections . I love the little critters on this one. I used some liquid aplique for the white frosting. Can you believe I have had that for a while and never used it. Glad I found it in my stash. It wont get lost again, I love it.

Here is another French Manor card. I love this cart. It has some great cuts such as the flowers and border on this card. The borders is cut at 3/4 and done twice to fit my card. I do like them... but I prefer my border punches.... love them. The flowers are covered with a generous amount of Stampin Up dazzling diamonds.

French Manor Christmas Card

This is a Christmas in July card. I love this cut from my French Manor cart. This cart is an exclusive cart for Cricut Circle members. I cut the horn with the card feature and added some branches to make a wreath on it. I love how it turned out. The card feature also allows you to cut a liner that is placed directly behind the image, I chose to let the horn flow and adhered the liner to the opposite side. The liner is embossed. I think this is one that I will be mailing to lots of family members on my Christmas list.

I am super excited to share this one with you today. I have been practicing to sew for over a week, although I've had a new sewing machine for over a year. I don't know how to sew and my dear mother in law tried to teach me. Well I think I finally accomplished it. I practiced on fabric and paper. I bought my machine to sew on paper projects mainly. It took me a while to figure out the whole tension and bobbin piece, but managed it for this card. I hope it goes well for future projects too. I think this one is for my mother-in law. I bet she will be surprised that I finally did it. By the way, I envy all you that are pros at sewing, I don't know how you do it. I was ready to throw everything away and give up yet again. Glad I stuck with it. Off I go to practice some more.... enjoy your day.

As you know by know I love the new Cricut Lite Cartridges that were released to Walmart. I bought a few and used 2 of my favorites on this card.... well they are all my favorites.. hee hee. I used Cupcake Wrappers for the birds and just trimmed the ends. I then cut Congratulations from Lacy Labels. The strips of paper to hang the label were hand cut. I really like how this one turned out. I love that the cupcake wrappers can be used on cards too.

I have been researching this topic for a long time and never seemed to make up my mind. I put if off by making my own light box from a card board box and tissue paper, but that only lasted a few weeks before the paper tore. I finally broke down and ordered one after seeing a post on Amazing Paper Grace. Becca showed a picture of this tent so I decided to be enabled and purchase it. It is very big. This is the one I bought OBN. It came with 4 back drops even thought the description only said black and white. I thought of getting a smaller one but then, I know I would make a layout and regret not getting the larger tent. Here is a pic for you to see how large it is and the lights are huge too.

I also embossed the red and blue strips of paper with my Fiskars line plate. I then weaved the strips to form my background. Happy Saturday to everyone. Fourth of July is just around the corner and Just Rite has a challenge this week celebrating our Red, White, and Blue colors along with a sketch. Although the projects do not have to be patriotic, I decided to make this one to thank all service men and women. I think they do an outstanding job to protect our freedom.

For this card I took out my Just Rite fonts to create my own word collage. I used all 50 point for Trompe, Brayton, Times Roman, and Special Occasions font. The oval is from the Harmony classic set. I stamped the center in blue then stamped the outer border in red. I really enjoyed working with the different fonts on this one.

Just a quick post this afternoon. I have been determined to enter more challenges, and one of my favorites is at the Hero Arts blog. I chose the color layering technique again. The stamps used for this one are the Starburst Lace and the Ledger. Sentiment is also Hero Arts cl380. I used my cinch to punch some holes at the top and thread ribbon through. Quick and simple. Just a quick post today. I just received my pre-order from Stampin up and had to make a card with this hostess set. I love the hydrangea. For this card I stamped the image with regal rose then popped it. The leaves are stamped on garden green paper and also cut. My favorite part is the dazzling diamonds. Its so dazzling.ha ha... I just love it. I also stamped some tiny flowers from the same set and used them to embellish... the back of the card is also stamped with the tiny flowers.

Just Rite for Dad

I have been trying to find an opportunity to use my Just Rite stamps with the Fleur Des Lis Spellbinder's pendant so I decided to make a Father's Day Card. I love how this one turned out. For the center sentiment I used Just Rite border in the the 1-5/8 from the designer border and centers set and the 2 5/16 Harmony Classic set. The words and number are Special Occasions font. The entire circle is then cut and embossed with my petite circle nesties. I then cut the Fleur Des Lis frame along with a scallop square. The top Fleurs de Lis are cut from Spellinder's metallic foil (love that ). Well thats all for now. I really enjoyed making this one. Yet another Hero Arts creation. I'm enjoying my stamps so much. For this one I wanted to do something distressed with a vintage feel so I finally broke out my Zutter Distress it All. I love this new gadget. Distressing is a breeze with it. I used the color layering technique with 2 Hero Arts backgrounds, the flower and stripes. The shimmer you see is on all the roses and was created by applying rock candy stickles. Card base is embossed with distressed stripes and roses. Have a great week end. We're off to the water park.

Wow... I'm so late with Bryan's First Communion invites. I had so much going on with my mom last week and was not able to get them done until last night. I kept them very simple. The embossed side is the same die I used for the banner top. This time I simply embossed rather than cut. I then used my spellbinder's cross and label to complete. I like how simple yet elegant they look. Sorry about the glare, its difficult to photograph metallic paper at night.. ...thanks for visiting. Off to a field trip with a bunch of sixth graders today. I'll be riding in the bus....... oh my.. advil anyone.?????

First Communion Banner with Cricut

I have finally finished my son's First Communion banner. I have been working on this on and off for over a week. The hardest part was cutting his name with the heat n' bond. I had never cut fabric with my cricut so that was a learning experience. I wanted his name to be Felt material and that didn't work well for me. Maybe I need to try again some other day so I settled for fabric looks like shiny fabric. I did manage to cut some thin foam with my deep blade for the Cup and Cross bottom layers to give it some dimension. The grape's top layer is also foam. I cut the top layer for the Cross and the Cup with paper. Everything is glued with foam and/or felt glue. The trim is from a Spellbinders 12 inch border die. I wanted to add more, but my son thought it would look girly.... boys are too funny. Thank you for visiting today.

I just received my Cinch today and just had to punch some holes to get a feel for it. I love it. very easy to use. I have to find my tripod to show you the binding piece so for now just showing you my new toy.

I recently purchased a few of the newly released carts. I think my favorite one is Create a Critter. You will be seeing more of this one. In the mean time I wanted to share 2 cards I made. The first one is the Hedgehog from Create a Critter. Super cute. The base for the card is from Just Because. The second card is made using the Kiwi cut from Preserves. I received my Anna Griffin punches from HSN and just had to make a card. The punches are sold in a set of 3 and are only for text weight paper... so no punching cardstock ladies... they wont work. I then cut the butterfly from Straight From The Nest... one of my favorite new carts . Finished it off with some recollections adhesive pearls. This card is for a special lady in our family... can't tell you who.. I hope she likes it.

Provo Craft just released some great new cartridges that can be found here. One is Create a Critter, I just fell in love with the images. I will be getting that one for sure but it does not get shipped until mid April.....so I took out one of my old carts and cut my favorite birds. I think this card just shouts spring. The sun is shinning here in CA and my flowers are blooming everywhere... now if I could only make my Gardenia behave and give me more flowers than it did last year. ... if you have any hints on how keep buds from falling off the gardenia.. let me know.

what would you be?.. Well I love hummingbirds.. they are so steady when they are eating from a flower or a feeder... I love how their wings flutter. This was my inspiration for this week's card at The Cuttlebug Spot. I used Quickutz embossing folder titled plants. Stamped some flower images and then embossed. I really like how it turned out after inking. Have a happy Monday.

This week we were challenged to make vintage themed projects at The Cuttlebug Spot. Well.. I had so many ideas then kids got sick... and ran out of time... so this is my effort for this week. I just received some grunge paper from Glendas Creative Place and some new Tim Holtz inks. I just had to put them to use on this card and hopefully got some vintage going. I will try to make another "vintage" card this week so look for that later. In the meantime I hope you enjoy the little birdie and cage.

I'm loving my OUAP cart. This one is the cow girl. I wanted to frame her as if a picture hanging on a wall. I used the Peachy Keen stamps again and I think I like this one better than the princess. The frame is from Old West and the word Howdy also... Amazingly punches on this one.. hee hee... whats wrong with me??

I made this one for my 7 year old niece. She is a princess and oh so precious. I used my Once Upon A Princess cart for the first time. Not sure about the face on this one. I used my Peacky Keen face stamps on this one. I think I have to play with them some more. I used tulle on the skirt to make it look a little bit different. Dont be surprised if you see more of these cute ladies hanging out here in the next few days. LOL.. have a great day.

This week at The Cuttlebug Spot our challenge was to make something green. I was in the mood to celebrate the Irish so I made this Shamrock card. I welded the framed shape on my Gypsy to make the card base along with the shadow cut for the shamrock from Designer Calendar cricut cart. I love how it turned out. All the shamrocks are embossed with the cuttlebug folder Celtic Knot. Have a great week. Doing some spring cleaning this week.. but I will try to get a few cards posted later this week.

I wanted to share some quick and simple Thank You cards I made for the teachers at my boys' school. Their mascot is a Jaguar so I used their school colors and paws as my inspiration. I embossed them with the paw fiskars embossing plate. I am placing these in the teacher's lounge so that they can help themselves to any. It was so hard to figure out what style to use so I kept them very simple. I hope they like the.

This week at The Cuttlebug Spot we are using a double embossing technique to add embossing shapes to a smooth. Be sure to visit The Cuttlebug Spot for the awesome design team creations and also take a look at the video/tutorials to learn about this technique.

This card was completed using the labels thirteen nestabilities just released this month. I love them. The cross is from my Easter 2010 mini cartridge. I think this is going to become one of my favorite cuts on this cartridge. As always, thank you for stopping by.

This is my easel card. I thought I would try something different this week so I made this wedding card. The heart and doves are dies from The Cottage Cutz. I love the doily heart its so intricate. I embossed the front and bottom part of the card with fiskars plates. I love how this one turned out.

Altered Frame.

This is a first for me. I made this one for The Cuttlebug Spot. Amazing what you can do with paper, glue and of course an embossing machine. This is a wood frame from Michael's $ 1.00. I embossed the corners with the corner embossing folders by Provo Craft. The paper is from Core-dinations so I sanded the entire thing to bring out the blue before sealing it with modge podge. The sentiment is a clear sticker. I love how this one turned out for being my first altered frame. Thank you for visiting my blog and have a great day.
